Cats beat Swans in Sydney in boilover, 2018 round 16
Ben Jensen 5 July 2018, AFL Round 16 2018, Sydney Swans v Geelong Cats GEELONG beat Sydney by two goals tonight at the SCG tonight, defying the experts (and me!) The Cats were a little inaccurate in front of goal kicking eight goals, one less than the Swans, and 23 behinds. The Cats led for most of the second quarter while the third was an arm wrestle, the scores tied at the final break. A goal from Harry Taylor put the Cats three goals up with less than 2 minutes to go, the Swans’ Luke Parker kicking a consolation goal just before the final siren.

Comment Suddenly, the injury list is shrinking and even Esava is back running this week! Let’s hope it’s only 2 weeks of running, 2 weeks of VFL and then back for the last 3 games. Harry needs to find form or make way. But the two I REALLY want to see back are Menzel (for Fogarty) and Henderson (for Kolodjashnij). Fogs has been good but we need men for finals and Kolo makes too many decision errors.
