Crowd violence following Geelong’s after the siren win over Melbourne in spotlight
Ben Jensen 22 July 2018 FIGHTING at GMHBA Stadium after Geelong’s after the siren win thanks to Zach Tuohy is in the spotlight today, following tweets featuring video footage by @TheProfitsComAu last night. In the first video a Melbourne fan appearing to be inebriated is held back almost like a rabid dog by a friend grabbing hold of his scarf, to no avail in the end as he is seen in the thick of the action in the next video. Appalling behaviour all round really, the Demon fan had Cat fans behind and in front rubbing in the win and there was fists and feet flying from ‘both sides’ – often directed at those trying to break it up. We had noticed on the night there appeared to be far less security than normal – the infamous ‘elephant dance’ (see video from last year at the bottom) a non event last night, and our aisle for the first time had nobody checking tickets.

We all need that friend or two who holds us back when we are blind drunk #embarrassing #AFLCatsDees pic.twitter.com/n029o1uwtb

Nothing like a sore loser – had a beer thrown at the back of my head after such a joyous after the siren win. Cats fans took care of a few drunk Melbourne fans – who kept picking fights and were police forced out #sad #AFLCatsDees pic.twitter.com/Fs1P2UgZTP
