Tom Stewart and Patrick Dangerfield in All Australian side; Tom Hawkins and Mark Blicavs miss out
Ben Jensen 29 August 2018 #AllAustralian GEELONG has two representatives in the AFL’s All Australian side for 2018. Patrick Dangerfield was named for the sixth time while Tom Stewart joined him in only his second season in the AFL after being recruited from GFL side South Barwon. Forward Tom Hawkins and backman Mark Blicavs were in the 40 man squad but ultimately left out.
For the second year running the All Australian captain was a player who does not captain his own side, Lance Franklin named captain, in his eighth All Australian side. Dangerfield was named vice captain. Other points of contention for some were Max Gawn named as ruckman though Collingwood’s Brodie Grundy was named on the interchange; Kangaroos forward Ben Brown and West Coast Eagle Elliot Yeo ‘Gabba Gabba’ missing out altogether.
