Six Cats leaving Geelong, more to come
Ben Jensen 13 September 2018 GEELONG has made six delistings already this week following the loss to the Demons last Friday. Most are not a shock; let go were Cory Gregson, Aaron Black, Stewart Crameri, Timm House, Matthew Hayball and Ryan Gardner. Black joined as a forward from North Melbourne for 2017 but played as a defender in 2018, playing well in three games before a season-ending knee injury (ACL) in his third game. We wonder if he may well be rookie listed but no word so far from the club if that is a consideration.
The other two bigger names to go are Gregson and Crameri. Gregson played 20 games in 2015 his debut season, but injury his in 2016 and he played just 9 games, before sitting out all of 2017. He played most of the first half of this season but again injury struck. Crameri joined the Cats after playing 99 games with Essendon and the Western Bulldogs. He managed three games for the Cats.House, Hayball and Gardner sadly never played an AFL game in the blue and white hoops. House had a number of injuries playing just over 30 VFL games in his time with the Cats, while Hayball and Gardner played around 50 VFL games each.
Others who may end up leaving of their own volition include Dan Menzel, George Horlin-Smith, Lincoln McCarthy, Jackson Thurlow and Jordan Murdoch. Watch this space!
