Geelong Cats v Greater Western Sydney Giants; 2019 round 4 match preview and team lists
Geelong Cats v Greater Western Sydney Giants; AFL 2019 round 4 match preview and team lists, GMHBA Stadium, Saturday 13 April 2019, 13:45 AEST
Ben Jensen, 11 April 2019 GEELONG host the GWS Giants this Saturday afternoon at GMHBA Stadium, with the weather forecast for a top of 20 and a chance of showers it might be a cold one. The Cats are three and zip while the Giants have dropped just the one match.
Lachie Henderson who endured a horror 2018 with injury is out with a foot injury – plantar fascia; think Robert Harvey. He is replaced by young Cat Jack Henry who’s back after one week on the sidelines with a hamstring injury suffered in the round 2 home win over Melbourne.
Tim Kelly was in some doubt after picking up an ankle strain in the win over Adelaide last Thursday night – the 9 day break should give him every chance to take his place in the midfield against the Giants. Mark O’Connor also injured in the win has a minor hip complaint and likewise has been named to play. Defender Zach Tuohy was also possibility to be available – but not in the AFL.
The Cats VFL men’s side play on Sunday against Carlton affiliate Northern Blues in round 2 with the women not beginning until 12 May. The Cats lost to Richmond on Friday night at GMHBA Stadium.
