Cats beat Eagles, go game clear on top of ladder
GEELONG defeated West Coast by 58 points at GMHBA Stadium this evening to go one game clear on top of the ladder after the first six rounds. The Eagles kicked the first goal of the match, Josh Kennedy booting the first of his two goals with just one minute on the clock; but from thereafter it was all the Cats, the Eagles having not much to add to the game.
Before the match members of the 2009 Premiership side walked a lap of honour, with some potential new recruits in tow. The Cats also officially opened the new ‘Sensory Zone’; a place predominantly for childred with sensory difficulties, typically autism, to use before during or after the game. Hats off to the club; fortunately our little fellas hasn’t had to rely on such a space but he enjoyed it and it’s good to know it’s there if needed. More info here.
MORE TO COME.
