Cats hold Kangaroos to record low score

AFL 2019 round 21 Geelong Cats v North Melbourne Kangaroos, Ben Jensen GEELONG held North Melbourne to the lowest score in their history (one goal and eight behinds, fourteen points) on a chilly night at GMHBA Stadium last night. Quinton Narkle’s wait to play his first game of the 2019 season and just seventh of his career was worth the wait, named as Geelong’s best player, kicking two goals and setting up several others.

The Cats played without a recognised ruckman leaving out Zac Smith as a late change replaced by 196cm defender Lachie Henderson; Mark Blicavs taking first ruck duties. Mitch Duncan enjoyed his 200th match by having close to 30 touches. 2007 Geelong VFL Premiership play Scott Thompson left the field in the term due to concussion, the 220-game veteran announced his retirement this week and may not play another match.
