Ben Jensen, 3 July 2020 This weekend Geelong captain Joel Selwood will play his three hundredth game and Gary Ablett his three hundred and fiftieth, the dual milestone match to be played at GMHBA Stadium on Saturday with a 4:45PM start. The match may well be the Cats’ last in Geelong for some time with the round six fixture at Marvel and the Cats heading to the West for matches with Collingwood, Fremantle and West Coast. After that all bets are off with the Coronavirus/Covid-19 crisis making Victorian teams persona non grata at the moment.

The Cats’ injury list is growing with Tom Stewart to miss after suffering a broken shoulder in the win over the Demons on the weekend while ruckman Rhys Stanley is set to miss up to a month with a knee injury. Tom Stewart was confirmed as missing with a rib injury this evening. Off-season recruit Josh Jenkins will miss another couple weeks due to a knee issue and the former Adelaide forward would also be in doubt to travel to WA afterwards. However if the Cats end up being fixtured in Adelaide following the Perth trip that may work in Jenkins’ favour. Gold Coast has named an unchanged side.
