Cats embarrass Dockers on their home turf

AFL 2020 round 8; Optus Stadium, Tuesday 28 10 July 2020 Ben Jensen GEELONG held Fremantle to just two goals in Perth last night picking up their fifth win for the season, moving up to third on the AFL ladder. The Dockers kicked no goals in the first half, one in the third and were fortunately to get a second with a couple minutes to go. To be fair the Cats didn’t set the scoreboard alight either booting just six themselves and twelve behinds.

Tom Hawkins booted three goals, his average against the Dockers in recent years, and was also offered a one match suspension by the AFL match review panel after a ‘stray elbow’ was thrown at Docker Luke Ryan. Next for the Cats is another game in Perth this time with the West Coast Eagles. Coronavirus/Covid-19 means the Cats have just a five day break while the Eagles have six.
