Tigers too good for Cats

AFL 2020 round 17; Metricon Stadium, Monday 14 September 2020 Ben Jensen RICHMOND cemented their status as defending Premier by defeating an in-form Geelong side easily on the Gold Coast on Friday night, winning by 26 points in another low-scoring match. Gary Rohan was a late withdrawal due to a glute injury, replaced by Ben Jarvis.

The Cats failed to kick a goal in the opening term, only one in the second and none ni the third; trailing by 32 points at three quarter time. The deficit may have been even worse had the Tigers kicked straight – at the final break having five goals and thirteen behinds. Geelong finished with three goals in the final quarter but still finished with half the scoring shots as the Tigers. The Cats now have a 9 day break before their final game of the season against the Swans, again on the Gold Coast.
