Cats blow head start and lose to Swans
Sydney Swans v Geelong Cats, AFL 2021 round 7, Ben Jensen GEELONG blew a 29 point lead to lose to the Swans, who outscored the Cats twelve goals six after quarter time. The Cats kept their nose in front by most of the match but the Swans kicked the final goal of the match to sneak to a two point lead. Geelong then should have had a kick right on the siren by Jeremy Cameron, a chance to win the match, but the kick was disallowed as being not fifteen metres (refer video below). An incorrect decision but the Cats only had themselves to blame – and the Swans, finally playing an entertaining and attacking game, were far more accurate and the better team after quarter time. Earlier in the day the VFL sides each had wins – the women thrashing the Western Bulldogs at Deakin and the men scraping over the line against the Swans.
