Ben Jensen JONATHAN CEGLAR will make his debut for the Cats in their round 20 clash with the Western Bulldogs at GMHBA Stadium this Saturday night. The ruckman is a timely inclusion after number one Rhys Stanley went off with a knee injury after dominating the ruck in the first half against Port Adelaide last weekend. Of course the main inclusion for the Cats is Tom Stewart who has now served his four match suspension, but we are intrigued to see how Ceglar goes and whether he can cover for Stanley in the coming weeks – as he faces up to a month on the sidelines.

Missing for the Cats along with the injury Stanley is Zac Tuohy who has Covid while Shannon ‘Scratcher’ Neale who replaced Stanley last week as substitute has been named an emergency. Also on the emergency list are Sam Menegola, Brandon Parfitt and Luke Dahlhaus – a very strong trio illustrating why the Cats are in such good form with such depth in reserve. The Cats’ VFL side plays on Sunday against the Coburg Lions at Ballarat’s ‘Mars Stadium’ – we’ve no idea why but the Lions seem to play their ‘home’ games at random grounds as some sort of footballing nomad.

The Bulldogs have brought back helmeted midfielder Caleb Daniel and key forward Zaine Cordy in place of omitted pair Alex Keath and Lachlan McNeil, while Adam Treloar has failed to pass a fitness test after suffering a calf injury last round.
