Ben Jensen ESAVA RATUGOLEA has been recalled to Geelong’s side at the expense of injured Rhys Stanley to presumably play a ruck role, but who knows. Jeremy Cameron will also miss with a hamstring injury the Cats are hoping only keeps him out a week. Isaac Smith returns after a week’s rest while Tom Atkins has been left out to likewise have a rest, ‘managed’ in Cats-speak.

The big news of course is AFL Players Association President Patrick Dangerfield playing his three hundredth AFL match. The former Geelong Falcon and Adelaide Crow has been at the Cats since 2016, winning the Brownlow Medal in his first season. The 32 year old has missed seven games with injury so far this season, some of them intentional as the Cats’ medical staff hatch a plan to have Dangerfield ready for the latter weeks of the season and finals.
