Ben Jensen FORMER Gold Coast Sun Jack Bowes will make his club debut for the Cats tonight against the Blues in the ‘De Koning Cup’. The Cats also said youngster Cooper Whyte will make his AFL debut but in true Geelong style has actually been named on the emergency list. Tom Stewart will miss after suffering a knee injury in the loss to Collingwood in round one, and Brandan Parfitt last week’s sub returns to the emergency list. Home side Carlton has made just the one change losing midfielder George Hewett due to a hand injury, replaced by Corey Durdin. Similarly to Parfitt, Blues substitute last week Lochie O’Brien returns to their four-man emergency list.

It would not be ‘AFL’ without some Geelong selection funny buggers; coach Chris Scott stating categorically that Whyte will make his debut but also saying “we’re not ready to communicate the other out at the moment. In any case, I’d rather focus on the exciting part”. Make of that what you will.
