Cats’ season over

Geelong Cats v Brisbane Lions, AFL 2024 second preliminary final Ben Jensen GEELONG is out of the premiership race after losing to Brisbane by ten points on Saturday night. Geelong led at half time by three goals but a five goal to two third term put the Lions up by two points at the final break. While the Cats found themselves in front after Ollie Henry’s third and fourth goals but the Lions snatched it back with two consecutive goals of their own. We won’t mention poor old Rhys Stanley who had a chance to reduce the margin to less than a goal with barely 15 seconds remaining but was so sore after earning his free kick missed from barely 10 metres out.
