MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR from The Cattery! Who knows what season 2012 has for us? Whatever the case, the numbers and draw are now finalised, it's worth recapping what's ahead for us. Gone are premiership skipper Cameron Ling, legendary ruckman Brad Ottens, 07/09 premiership players Cameron Mooney and Darren Milburn plus a couple delistings, including 09 premiership ruckman Mark Blake. Joining the Cats are six new senior-listed players plus three rookies, and a host of other newly listed VFL players.

Geelong open their season against Fremantle in Perth on Saturday 31 March at Subiaco Oval or Pattersons Stadium as it is now known. Who will lead the side? That is not yet known but most money is on Joel Selwood.

Lincoln McCarthy takes Ottens' number 6, Jordan Murdoch Mooney's 21, Orren Stephenson Marcus Drum's 23, Jed Bews Blake's 24, Shane Kersten Milburn's 39 and finally Joel Hamling Ling's famous number 45.
