DRAGONS TOO GOOD FOR CATS, BOUND INTO PRELIMINARY FINAL
Ben Jensen 2 September 2006

By Ben Jensen SANDRINGHAM was too good for Geelong in this afternoon's Victorian Football League (VFL) qualifying final at TEAC Oval, winning by 21 points. The Cats kicked seventeen goals but it wasn't enough. Having almost levelled the scores in the third quarter, they saw the Dragons jump away to a 19 point lead at three quarter time, and never really got back into the hunt.

Melbourne Demons affiliate Sandringham have next weekend off and jump straight into the preliminary final. Geelong must play a sudden death semi final against the winner of tomorrow's elimination final between Werribee and North Ballarat.
