TICKETS ON SALE, CATS LOSE EGAN FOR SEASON By Ben Jensen GEELONG CATS V NORTH MELBOURNE KANGAROOS TICKETS for the 1st Qualifying Final went on sale today to members of competing clubs. In a farcical situation, non-members could also purchase tickets, after Ticketmaster predictably 'stuffed up' one of the more anticipated Mondays in years, with four Victorian sides in the AFL finals series. FINALS TICKETS 2 SEPTEMBER 2007 CATS TO PLAY KANGAROOS IN HOME FINAL AT MCG; TICKETS ON SALE MONDAY
EGAN OUT FOR SEASON Matthew Egan is almost certainly out for the entire AFL Final Series, after his injury in the win was diagnosed as a fracture in his right foot. The Club is currently exploring all available options, however it would be a not-minor miracle for Egan to be fit enough to play. Egan landed awkwardly during the first quarter, but towards the end of the match Geelong fans grew hopefully he was merely being rested as a precaution, with no structural damage. Unfortunately for the athletic defender, scans this morning revealed the bad news of a fracture to a part of his foot known as the navicular. Captain Tom Harley is expected to shoulder the centre half back load, with VFL key position play Henry Playfair a slim chance to earn a recall for just his second match of the season, in the final on Sunday.
