DEMOLITION WORKS at Skilled Stadium are virtually complete. All that awaits now is for the construction contract to be awarded, and works to begin in earnest. Works are not expected to commence until late January at the earliest. The Cattery's seats, just to the right of camera in Bay 9, are unaffected by the works this season. Due to the reconstruction works, the Cats won't play any home games at Skilled until Round 6 (GFC Draw).

The Cattery is back for what hopefully will be another great year for the GFC off the field, and, most would say more importantly, a successful year ON the field. After watching a promising bunch of 'kittens' develop in 2002, Geelong fans thought their team would finally emerge in September. But it wasn't to be, Geelong's lowlights including dual defeats by wooden spooner the Western Bulldogs.

In other off-field news, former Geelong marking forward Derek Hall, 33, has married Danielle Vandersteen at Phillip Island. Hall played 74 games for Geelong between 1995 and 2000, averaging a goal a game. Hall moved on to the Peel Thunder, where Geelong's favorite son, Garry Hocking, will coach in 2004. Hall left the Thunder at the end of 2003 and will now coach Mooroopna in the Goulburn Valley league.
