CATS SHUT DOWN POWER IN EXTRA TIME By Ben Jensen GEELONG won a home AFL NAB Cup Semi Final after defeating Port Adelaide by just three points in last night's match in Darwin. Just under 5,000 fans braved the monsoon-like conditions at Darwin's TIO Stadium. Locked at 56 points apiece when the final siren sounded, two brief 'quarters' were played to break the deadlock. Geelong's only score came from Cameron Mooney, who's goal was enough to sink the Power. Mooney, who also kicked four goals last week, appears to be taking his permanent move to centre half forward in his stride. In scenes reminiscent of last year's NAB Cup final at AAMI Stadium, the Power really should have won; Chad Cornes missed from almost point blank range, hitting the post to score a behind. Geelong plays Brisbane Lions this Friday night at Melbourne's Telstra Dome. Matthew Stokes was reported for 'rough play' against Port's Domenic Cassisi. The AFL's Match Review Panel will announce what if any sanction Stokes will face tomorrow afternoon.
