GEELONG TRIUMPH
OVER HAWTHORN AGAIN IN ANOTHER MCG CLASSIC By Ben Jensen (from Dublin) GEELONG'S MIGHTY CATS overcame a shaky start and rejuvenated Hawthorn side in front of 68,628 punters at the MCG on Monday. Cameron Mooney and Shannon Byrnes again headed the goalkicking for the Cats with four and three goals while Jarryd Roughead bagged four for the Hawks. Steven Motlop made his debut but unfortunately did pick up a shoulder injury while All Australian full back Matthew Scarlett suffered from back seizures in the last quarter and may miss next week. The Hawks led by four goals early in the match but that deficit had been trimmed to just four points by three quarter time thanks to a five goal to two effort by the Cats. A four goal to one final term did the job for Geelong, Brad Ottens taking a screamer of a mark to give his side the lead for the first time. Buddy Franklin wowed his fans with his second from outside fifty but it was all Geelong thereafter, booting the last three goals.
