COREY ENRIGHT WINS GEELONG BEST AND
FAIREST By Ben Jensen twitter.com/thecattery COREY ENRIGHT has won the 2011 Geelong Best and Fairest award, the Carji Greeves Medal, in the closest contest in years. Enright joins an elite club of players to have won their club best and fairest awards in a Premiership year; Enright also won the 2009 award, shared with Gary Ablett. It was the closest top ten ever they say, Enright finishing on 150 votes. Runner up was Joel Corey on 143, third place Jimmy Bartel 142. Tied for fourth were retiring skipper Cameron Ling and the pre-count favourite James Kelly on 138, while a further vote back were three players on 137 (Joel Selwood, Matthew Scarlett and Steve Johnson). James Podsiadly, who was in third place after the 24 home and away rounds (finals count!), was in ninth on 136, with Harry Taylor (134) rounding out the top ten.
