Rooke to return Geelong will be bolstered against the Saints at Colonial this Sunday, with the return of Rookie-listed player Jarad Rooke, who has missed the past 5-6 weeks with a virus related groin injury. Rooke, who came to Geelong's rookie list via Casterton in the State's Western region, had, up until becoming injured, been one of Geelong's more consistent players, and was unlucky not to gain an AFL Rising Star nomination. Last time against the Saints Rooke was playing just his 2nd game of AFL football, and played a blinder. Hopefully this Sunday he can give us a glimpse of that form, as we hope the rest of the team to show. Last time Geelong won by 122 points, while it surely won't be anywhere near that margin this time, Geelong actually go into the game as rank underdogs, with the Saints showing good form in recent weeks. Should Geelong win, it gives them a great chance of making the finals. Should they lose, it's almost all over. |
