VFL 2ND SEMI FINAL 2006: GEELONG V NORTH BALLARAT;
MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM LIST By Ben Jensen GEELONG face Kangaroos affiliate North Ballarat at Port Melbourne's TEAC Oval. The winner will face Williamstown, a surprise winner over Carlton affiliate Northern Bullants last weekend. The Cats lost to an experienced Sandringham lineup by twenty-one points while the Roosters thrashed Werribee to the tune of seventy-six points. Departing the team for the remainder of the VFL finals are Kane Tenace and Shannon Byrnes, neither meeting the VFL eligibility criteria. The basic criteria for qualification is any AFL-listed or AFL-rookie listed player must have played at least seven VFL matches in the home and away season, while playing no more than 12 AFL matches in the same season. Last time these two teams met the Cats came out on top to the tune of twenty-nine points. Matthew McCarthy kicked six goals for the Cats whilst now retired Kangaroo full forward Sav Rocca kicked six for the Roosters. SEN 1116 will be broadcasting the game whilst ABC TV will be telecasting the game in Victoria. GEELONG NORTH BALLARAT
