Cats getting sick of 'honourable losses' GEELONG yesterday afternoon lost to the West Coast Eagles by 15 points in front of 36,268. The Cats, who lead by just 4 points at three quarter time, lost touch with the Eagles in the final term after the Eagles piled on six goals to Geelong's three. The Toasters had the advantage of several generous free kicks in front of goal throughout the match while the Cats were inaccurate in front of goal early in the match. A costly 50m penalty by experienced defender Darren Milburn in the first term proved costly, resulting in a goal. Next week Geelong again travels interstate, this time to the SCG to face the in form Sydney Swans. The Swans defeated dual reigning Premiers the Brisbane Lions at the SCG today, and won against Collingwood at Telstra Dome the week before. Last season Geelong spoiled the retirement party of Wayne Schwass at the SCG but this year things may be different. |
