MATTHEW SCARLETT ALL AUSTRALIAN A few weeks ago The Cattery readers voted unanimously that Matthew Scarlett was deserving of All Australian selection at Full Back. Well, he made it! On Monday night, courtesy of www.essendonfc.com.au, the All Australian team was leaked, with Scarlett entrenched at full back. Scarlett was typically almost silent upon receiving the accolade, saying only that it was nice but he'd 'rather be playing finals football'. Hopefully Scarlett will experience finals in 2004 and beyond, something that recent changes in coaching staff may stimulate. Scarlett is believed to not yet be signed up yet but there is said to be no question that he will remain with the Cats for the remainder of his career, so strong are his family links to the club.
