DANGERFIELD RETURN TO ADELAIDE A HAPPY ONE, GEELONG
TOO GOOD AFL ROUND 8 2016: ADELAIDE CROWS V GEELONG CATS GEELONG withstood a challenge from Adelaide in the third quarter and inaccurate goal kicking to run out winners by 26 points at Adelaide Oval tonight, in Patrick Dangerfield's first match against his old team. The Cats held the Crows goalless in the final term, booting four of their own in a short period midway through the quarter to put the game beyond doubt. Tom Lonergan missed most of the game through concussion, after copping a head knock five minutes into the game after being pushed into Tom Ruggles by Crow Taylor Walker. A huge crowd of 53,141 were at the Adelaide Oval, plenty of Cats fans though most would have been Crows who went home disappointed. The free kick count (26-14) certainly was something the locals would have been happy with though it didn't help them get closer than 26 points to a very inaccurate Geelong side in the end.
