KING TO BOLSTER CATS LINEUP THE stage is set for Geelong captain Steven King, to make his long awaited return from ankle surgery this Sunday, when the Cats play an in form Melbourne at Skilled Stadium. King, who has been troubled by a spate of achilles problems in the past year, is named on Geelongs interchange bench. It will be Kings first senior appearance since July of last year. Since 2003, the 25 year-old former All-Australian ruckman, has only managed to play in 13 of Geelongs last 29 matches. Geelong Football Club Operations Manager, Garry Davidson, says King was always going to be a likely starter, after training well at a session on Wednesday. He got through everything (at training) pretty well and pulled up well this morning. Of course we had to go through a process where we looked at how he pulled up, but we were always confident that he'd come through it pretty well. Davidson told the Geelong Advertiser. King will join Brent Moloney on the bench, who was absent during the Cats 56 point win over the Hawks last weekend, after bruising his ribs against Adelaide in Round 6. |
