CATS INTO VFL GRAND FINAL
Ben Jensen 16 September 2012

GEELONG'S VFL SIDE is through to the VFL Grand Final, to be a replay of the famous 2002 match which set the Cats on their journey towards the 2007, 2009 and 2011 AFL Premierships. It was not without anxious moments however, Werribee almost snatching an amazing come from behind victory as they narrowed the gap from some 20-odd points with seemingly one or two minutes to go, to four points by the time the siren sounded, the quarter going for some 34 minutes. They may have been paid a mark or free kick inside fifty in the final minute too, but fortunately for the Cats they were not. Mitch Brown showed he may challenged for James Podsiadly's spot in 2013 with a bag of three while David Wojcinski played his second last game for the Cats, quietly confirming his retirement plans to friends after the match.
