SIDE

twitter.com/thecattery FOUR GEELONG players
have made the 2013 AFL All Australian side, led by Joel Selwood who
was named skipper. Corey Enright made his fifth All Aussie side named
in a back pocket after a great season, likewise Harry Taylor was rewarded
for his performances, named at centre half back. Andrew Mackie made
it through on the bench to round out the selections.
Former Geelong great Gary Ablett
was named for the seventh consecutive year, a record. Ablett first made
All Australian in the Cats' breakthrough 2007 season and has been a
regular fixture in the side ever since. Ablett was named vice captain
to Selwood.
Jeremy
Cameron was named at full forward and is the first ever player from
Greater Western Sydney to make the side, picked ahead of Coleman Medallist
Jarryd Roughead who was named in a forward pocket.
There
was some chatter about Hawthorn's Luke Hodge missing out but realistically
he was far from dominant this season when you look at who was selected
ahead of him in the back half. Will Minson was named as first ruck,
the first time the Bulldog has made it to the team of the year.
GEELONG'S REPRESENTATIVES:
- Defenders - Corey Enright, Harry Taylor
- Centre - Joel Selwood
- Bench - Andrew Mackie
