CATS SUFFER FOURTH LOSS By Ben Jensen twitter.com/thecattery COLLINGWOOD MAGPIES V GEELONG CATS GEELONG nearly stole back the match but lost it at the death to Collingwood at the MCG last night. The Cats trailed by four goals early in the final term but despite scoring a barrage of behinds, managed to level the scores with one minute and forty-odd seconds to go. They appeared set to at least go on to snatch the lead outright but a 50m penalty given away by Josh Hunt on Alex Fasolo saw the Magpies go back to a six point lead with a minute to go. A final roll of the dice by the Cats didn't pay off, Scott Pendlebury kicking a long goal to a vacant goalsquare to seal the win. The Cats will rue their missed opportunities for the next week and possibly beyond, while the 50m penalty itself was debated long and wide following the match. It was probably there but you often see them waived on. Before the bounce Matthew Scarlett again pulled out injury, this time after rolling an ankle after passing a fitness test for a hip injury that kept him out of last week's loss to Adelaide.
