JOEL SELWOOD CONFIRMED AS NEW GEELONG SKIPPER

JOEL SELWOOD was confirmed as Geelong's new captain today, in what was seen as a bit of a 'no brainer' for most Geelong fans. Selwood, who broke with a post-season media silence to begin somewhat of a charm offensive four weeks ago, will have fellow triple-premiership player Jimmy Bartel as his deputy. The Geelong 'leadership group' for 2012 will comprise Harry Taylor, Corey Enright, Joel Corey, James Kelly and Steve Johnson, with Johnson being the new addition to the group after retired skipper Cameron Ling's departure.
