AFL ROUND 13 2006: ADELAIDE V GEELONG;
HARLEY, ROOKE RETURN; MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM LIST By Ben Jensen GEELONG seek their third overall and second interstate win on the trot against Adelaide in their first Sunday game for the season this weekend. Although it is the second consecutive road trip, both teams did have a week off due to the AFL's split round. In the VFL the Bendigo Bank Cats travel to Frankston to take on the Dolphins. The Cats, who won the wooden spoon last season, are fifth on the ladder with six wins four losses yet a shaky percentage of just below 100%, the Dolphins ninth with four wins five losses and a healthy percentage of 112%. Named in the starting eighteen to return from injury are Tom Harley and Jarad Rooke, who will boost the backline considerably. Also included in the side but named on the expanded interchange bench are David Johnson, who is due to play his fiftieth AFL game, and Nick Batchelor, who is yet to play AFL. Forward Kent Kingsley is named on the interchange and in the VFL side, along with Tim Callan, Kane Tenace, Shannon Byrnes and Matthew Stokes. While Adelaide are top of the ladder, having only lost twice, Geelong are struggling and despite two wins on the trot, including a flogging of Fremantle at Subiaco, have just five wins for the season and sit in eleventh spot. Geelong have the best percentage of teams outside the top six, having lost three games by less than ten points. For the Crows the only omission to date is on baller Chris Knights. Coming into the squad are AFL Players' Association board member Brett Burton, veteran ruckman Matthew Clarke, Jason 'The Porpoise' Porplyzia and Hayden Skipworth, the latter three all named on the seven man interchange.

LAST TIME 2006 NAB CUP FINAL (AAMI STADIUM) THE CATS WON THE NAB CUP by just eight points in a thriller in front of 30,000 at Adelaide's Football Park tonight. Trailing with ten minutes to go, Geelong won through three forth quarter goals to Cameron Mooney and a super goal to Joel Corey. The game was reminiscent to the final against Sydney at the SCG last season, and will go down as one of the classic pre-season finals. DOWNLOAD GEELONG THEME SONG (MP3 FORMAT)
