AFL ROUND 12 2007: GEELONG V BRISBANE;
DARREN MILBURN'S 200TH; FINAL TEAM
LISTS PLUS TV / RADIO BROADCAST
DETAILS By Ben Jensen GEELONG V BRISBANE LIONS TOP OF THE LADDER Geelong host the once mighty Brisbane Lions at Skilled Stadium this Sunday. Now on a six game winning streak, the Cats have now found the winning formula and are keen to continue the streak, if for no other reason than to honour stalwart, utility Darren Milburn, who will play his 200th match since beginning his career with the Cats in 1997.
Jarad Rooke misses through suspension (Full Story: GEELONG'S MAX ROOKE ACCEPTS ONE MATCH SUSPENSION), following his head-high hit on Adelaide Crows captain Mark Ricciuto in Sunday's win at AAMI Stadium. In his place is the NAB AFL Rising Star nominee for Round 5, Joel Selwood. Defender David Johnson, who was expected to take Rooke's place, will instead resume in the VFL should he pass a fitness test. Also in the VFL, Tom Lonergan will make comeback against the Tasmania Devils. Lonergan, of course, nearly died and lost a kidney after the round 21, 2006 draw with Melbourne. AFL ROUND 18, GABBA (BRISBANE)
BEST
GEELONG's season remains alive, after a win over the Brisbane Lions at a balmy GABBA this afternoon. In front for most of the game but keeping the Lions in the game through inaccurate kicking, the Cats didn't make the most of their opportunities in front of goal but got over the line by seventeen points. The VFL team also had a win, defeating next Sunday's opponent St Kilda's affiliate team Casey Scorpions and jumping to third spot.
