AFL PREMIERSHIP SEASON 2008 ROUND 4; ST KILDA V
GEELONG; MATCH PREVIEW
PLUS TV / RADIO BROADCAST DETAILS By Ben Jensen GEELONG play sometime nemesis St Kilda at the Telstra Dome this Saturday afternoon in what may be a spiteful encounter, at least off the field and in cyberspace. An away game, it will be televised on delay by Channel Ten. Former skipper Steven King will come up against his former club and the player he sensationally replaced on the eve of the 2007 Grand Final, Mark Blake. Geelong, with three wins, are flying once more while the Saints are thereabouts, with two wins, albeit a breakeven percentage, and after last week's pathetic capitulation against the Western Bulldogs, shouldn't really be talking tough. Former skipper Steven King will play some part in the match while other former Geelong player Charlie Gardiner is named as an emergency. GEELONG's VFL side play an hour earlier than the main team, meaning at least one player will probably miss altogether as an emergency. It'd be a shame for that player to be Brent Prismall given the form he's shown of late, unless he is a realistic chance of playing due to an unknown injury. We expect David Johnson to be on standby at the Dome while his teammates play against the Tassie Devils, and most likely sit in the stands as his side plays the Saints. BENDIGO BANK CATS TURN IT ON FOR LONERGAN RETURN, SEVENTY-TWO POINT WINNERS OVER TASMANIA IN THE WET GEELONG leads not only the AFL ladder but held onto top spot in the VFL, making ammends for last week's loss to Werribee with an absolute spanking of Tasmania. At times the conditions resembled a torrential downpour but that didn't seem to bother the Cats in the second half, outscoring the Devils by nine goals to nil. Tom Lonergan enjoyed his first game back since that terrible incident last season, and enjoyed a big cheer when he came on in the second quarter. GEELONG 3.3 5.5 11.9 14.14 (98)
