AFL 2009 ROUND 10; ESSENDON V GEELONG;
MATCH PREVIEW PLUS TV / RADIO BROADCAST DETAILS By Ben Jensen AFL 2009 ROUND 10 ESSENDON BOMBERS V GEELONG CATS AN IMPROVED ESSENDON side coached by Matthew Knights hosts the Cats at the Docklands this Sunday arvo, the Cats enjoying a near nine day break. The Bombers beat Knights' old side Richmond last Saturday night at the MCG in front of a huge crowd, while the Cats were fortunate to escape with a 2 point win over the Western Bulldogs on Friday night at Etihad Stadium. For the Cats, they'll lose Matthew Stokes to suspension but will regain Cameron Mooney. Nathan Djerrkura will make his long awaited debut while Darren Milburn returns from injury. Paul Chapman has unfortunately ran into another revolving door with injury, and will miss his game with an injured finger. Chapman only returned last week after missing round 8 with an unrelated back injury. Ryan Gamble, who had his first game last week since round 2, suffered concussion from last Friday night's thriller with the Bulldogs and will miss out for Mooney in any case. Shannon Byrnes will have to resume from his injury in the VFL, while David Johnson has held onto his position in the side.

2008, ROUND 2 14:10 (AEST), SUNDAY 30 MARCH 2008, TELSTRA DOME CATS FLOG BOMBERS By Ben Jensen, from London BOYS AGAINST MEN stuff today, GEELONG giving Essendon a football lesson at the Telstra Dome this afternoon (or morning as it is for us). The Cats made a mockery of the pre-match billing that it might be a good game - the Bombers sticking with the Cats for about five minutes before losing in an opening term as even ruckmen Mark Blake and Trent West kicked running goals. It was The Cattery's first 'live' game on TV, having to listen to the first match on Internet radio due to the timing, now able to watch this one on Setanta in the comfort of home (albeit at 4am the night the clock got wound forward an hour!). The match was a good earner for the Cats, 50,636 being in attendance. MATCH RESULT AND REVIEW - CATS FLOG BOMBERS
