AFL 2009 ROUND 19; CARLTON V GEELONG;
MATCH PREVIEW PLUS TV / RADIO BROADCAST DETAILS By Ben Jensen AFL 2009 ROUND 19 GEELONG CATS V CARLTON BLUES GEELONG plays Carlton for the first time in over a year at the MCG Friday night. Andrew Mackie will play his 100th game since debuting in Geelong's awakening season 2004. Six goal hero Paul Chapman is out while Tom Lonergan, a late withdrawal last round, returns as his replacement Tom Gillies holds his position. Good and bad news for folk in the UK; good if you want to watch / record it on proper TV, bad if you didn't want to pay for it and would rather watch the free stream. It is as yet unclear if this arrangement will continue for another week or not.

AFL 2008, ROUND 10 SATURDAY 31 MAY 2008, 19:40 AEST, TELSTRA DOME CATS OVERRUN GALLANT CROWS
AT AAMI STADIUM By Ben Jensen GEELONG V ADELAIDE AFL ROUND 4 GEELONG eventually cruised towards their fourth win of the season after surviving a spirited Adelaide' fightback at AAMI Stadium tonight. Nine minutes into the final quarter and the Cats were officially unofficially home; Chapman's first, assisted by best afield Ablett, snuffed out and hopes the Crows had, the Cats now in front by 29 points. This finally broke the Crows' spirit, the Cats perhaps flattering themselves with goal after goal, unanswered to win by fourty-eight points. Gary Ablett amazingly had 46 posessions in his 150th game, easily his best and just seven less than the record held by Greg Williams.
GEELONG GET BACK ON TRACK WITH WIN
OVER CARLTON By Anthony Jensen GEELONG players and fans alike looked keen to scrub last week's monumental loss to Collingwood out of their collective minds, and achieved this on Saturday night in a 56-point win over Carlton. Cats fans saw the long awaited return of 'gutsy' Tom Lonergan [sans one kidney], coming in for Cam Mooney who was a late withdrawal with a suspected shoulder complaint. Brad Ottens also made his first AFL appearance since his stellar performance in the 2007 Grand Final, returning from what turned out to be a severe ankle sprain incurred during the pre-season.
