CATS V ADELAIDE CROWS
GEELONG look to build some momentum just over a month out from finals
with a win over Adelaide in a home game this Saturday. Allen
Christensen

Essendon, and Jimmy Bartel is back from a two match suspension. It is
Geelong's third home fixture in a row although the first at Simonds
Stadium since round 14. In the VFL Geelong play Bendigo in a curtain

comprehensively defeated Geelong by fifty points at AAMI Stadium this
afternoon. The Cats suffered a blow losing perennial All Australians
Jimmy Bartel and Matthew Scarlett before the bounce, replaced by Shannon
Byrnes and Tom Gillies. The Crows led for most of the game, the Cats
getting a couple goals early on but soon saw goal after goal sail through,
eight of them coming in the second quarter, the margin at half time
a shade over ten goals. Adelaide took the foot off the pedal in the
last quarter, Geelong scoring four goals to two, but the damage was
done far earlier. The Cats now finding themselves outside the top eight
with four wins from seven games and face Collingwood in a Grand Final
replay Friday night at the MCG.
