AFL 2014 ROUND 5; GEELONG V HAWTHORN;
FINAL TEAMS AND MATCH PREVIEW By Ben Jensen GEELONG CATS V HAWTHORN HAWKS GEELONG has lost Josh Caddy with a broken foot for Easter Monday's clash with Hawthorn at the MCG. Caddy broke his foot at training on Thursday in what was apparently an 'innocuous' incident - football Tsar Neil Balme confirming the bad news that Caddy would be out for about eight weeks. 'Caddy Shack' has been one of Geelong's best this season, in his second year at the Cats after being recruited from Gold Coast. MATCH REPORT Coming in for the Cats as Caddy's replacement is Jackson Sheringham. The Hawks have lost Matt Spangher and Luke Shiels to injury and dropped Jonathon Ceglar. Their replacements are Ben McEvoy, Mitch Hallahan, Ben Stratton, the underdone Brian Lake remaining as an emergency. Umpires for the match are Razor Ray Chamberlain, Simon Meredith and Ben Ryan; in goal are Chelsea Roffey and Luke Walker. In better news, Steven Motlop, who is yet to play a game this year having a knee injury, played in the VFL this evening against Box Hill in Geelong, the Cats trailing the Hawks 14.18 102 to 12.7 79 as we went to press. On Thursday the Cats named an expanded interchange including the two Jacksons - Thurlow and Sheringham, Jordan Schroder and Josh Walker. Hawthorn's five inclusions were Ben McEvoy, Jed Anderson, Ben Stratton, Mitch Hallahan and Norm Smith Medallist Brian Lake. What do you think? How are we going to go?

AFL 1ST PRELIMINARY FINAL 2013 FRIDAY 20 SEPTEMBER 2013 19:50 AEST; MCG
AFL FINALS 2013 HAWTHORN HAWKS V GEELONG CATS GEELONG were defeated by Hawthorn tonight by the barest of margins, leading by twenty points at three quarter time but blowing that lead as the quarter went on. The final term was brutal. Luke Bruest kicked the opening goal a few minutes in before Josh Caddy steadied for the Cats with his first five minutes later. The Cats then coughed up a couple goals they shouldn't have. They very nearly found themselves behind with just six minutes to play as Luke Bruest found himself with a chance to put his side in front, but he somehow missed. Shaun Burgoyne didn't make the same mistake however the next play, the Hawks two points up with 05:33 on the clock. The Hawks went on to score two more behinds to make their lead four points with four minutes to go. 20 SEPTEMBER 2013 CATS BOW OUT OF PREMIERSHIP RACE TO HAWKS 19 SEPTEMBER 2013 AFL 2013 1ST PRELIMINARY FINAL; HAWTHORN V GEELONG; MATCH PREVIEW HAWTHORN:
