AFL 2015 ROUND 19: GEELONG CATS V SYDNEY SWANS MATCH PREVIEW

AFL ROUND 19 2015: GEELONG CATS V SYDNEY SWANS ADAM GOODES will return to the AFL field tonight against the Cats in Geelong; arriving with his team on Friday following weeks of controversy culminating in him sitting out last weekend's game after being booed relentlessly around the country, most recently at the hands of West Coast Eagles supporters.

The big event putting aside the Goodes sideshow is Cats skipper Joel Selwod's 200th match. Debuting in the break-through 2007 season Selwood has had one of the most successful first two hundred games ever, winning three premierships and three club best and fairests, plus other accolades such as the Rising Star award in 2007.

In a blow for the Swans key forward Lance Franklin is out. For the Cats Matthew Stokes finally returns to the side along with Corey Gregson and George Horlin-Smith. Missing is the suspended Steve Johnson who was due to play his 250th game, Billie Smedts (dropped) and Shane Kersten who was a late change on Friday due to injury.

Jew Bews remains in the VFL for a third week in a row while comebacks of Nathan Vardy and Dan Menzel also continue in the VFL, coach Chris Scott appearing to play down the chances of a Menzel return to the AFL in comments earlier this week.
