AFL 2017 ROUND 13:
WEST COAST EAGLES V GEELONG CATS; MATCH PREVIEW & TEAMS AFL 2017 ROUND 13: WEST COAST EAGLES V GEELONG CATS RHYS STANLEY has been recalled, as telegraphed by Coach Chris Scott yesterday, to replace suspended Tom Hawkins in the match against the West Coast Eagles at Perth's Domain Stadium Thursday night. Also recalled is Jed Bews who replaces Mark Blicavs who has been rested with soreness. Still to Wylie Buzza though he is named an emergency. Terrible news at the club today as Josh Cowan and Cory Gregson were both confirmed as almost certain to miss the remainder of the season. Cowan will miss 10-12 weeks with an achilles injury while Gregson has a much more serious stress fracture in a foot which isn't healing (we can very personally relate to that). This is the second Thursday night fixture the Cats have had, this time perhaps a more friendly time given it's interstate. The VFL side play on Saturday against Richmond at Punt Road Oval at 4:30PM while the women's team plays Sunday against the Victoria University 'Western Spurs'.
UMPIRES FIELD:
- TIP: Cats by 17 points

TOO GOOD FOR EAGLES AFL ROUND 7 2016: GEELONG CATS V WEST COAST EAGLES GEELONG was tested at times but defeated West Coast comfortably after a stunning final quarter, winning by 44 points. Trailing at the first break the Cats launched a blitz against the Eagles, outscoring them seven goals to one for the quarter to take a 35 point lead into the main break. The lead stretched to 51 points early in the second half and a serious belting looked on the cards, but the Eagles had other ideas, booting five unanswered goals to slash the lead to just three kicks. A late steadier by Josh Caddy got the match back under control, the Cats leading by 18 points at three-quarter time. The first four goals of the final term put the result beyond any doubt, the Eagles' three goals not enough to make the score more respectable. GEELONG:
