GEELONG CATS V SYDNEY SWANS
PATRICK DANGERFIELD will not grace the field to play the Sydney Swans
in
a home fixture this Friday night after being suspended for a tackle
on Carlton's Matthew. Nakia Cockatoo will also miss after re-injuring
a hamstring in his comeback game Saturday night against the Blues. Coming
in for the Cats are youngsters Zach Guthrie and Sam Simpson. The plot
thickens slightly with three talls named as emergencies including Timm
House who is yet to play a game, Aaron Black and to borrow a somewhat
unkind term from Donald Trump, the 'beleaguered' Rhys Stanley. As we
found out on Wednesday Dan Menzel and Steve Motlop remain on the sidelines,
Motlop now being described as injured not managed.
Sydney has made
four changes with key players Gary Rohan, Kurt Tippett and Sam Reid
all in along with Jake Lloyd. Slightly countering the Cats' loss of
Dangerfield is Josh Kennedy with a hamstring, although the Swans' replacements
are far stronger than the Cats. Sam Naismith is out with an abdominal
strain while Daniel Robinson and Jordan Foote are both dropped. In the
VFL the Cats play Box Hill while the VFL Women's side also plays a Box
Hill side, the rejuvinated Knox Falcons side.

GEELONG
were absolutely belted by Sydney at the MCG tonight, the Swans outscoring
the Cats seven goals to none in the first quarter and after kicking
the first of the second quarter, the jig was up far too early in a match
expected to be far closer. Too much was ultimately asked of too few,
the Geelong midfield seemingly only comprising skipper Joel Selwood
and Patrick Dangerfield who were both excellent but had little help.
In every way the Swans were brilliant the Cats were just awful, nothing
went their way whereas the Swans were excellent- kicking goals from
almost every angle in that first term with the Cats only managing five
