CATS BELT BLUES, MALTHOUSE IN TROUBLE
BEFORE GAME STARTS, IN REAL TROUBLE AFTER AFL ROUND 8 2015: GEELONG CATS V CARLTON BLUES GEELONG were not really challenged by Carlton tonight, winning by seventy-seven points and keeping their perfect record against the Blues at Etihad Stadium intact. A six goal to two opening term followed by five goal to three second had the match pretty much over by half time, the struggling Blues not able to pull off an upset as coach Michael Malthouse found himself yet again under siege though it's hard to see how his side would ever be able to challenge the Cats let alone their opponents Sydney next Friday night. The Cats had twelve separate goal kickers, Jordan Murdoch leading with four while Mitch Clark and Josh Caddy had three apiece. Shane Kersten booted two and played a great all round game, while Tom Hawkins managed just the one. The Cats play West Coast at Subiaco next Sunday afternoon, a tough away game with the Eagles second on the ladder having lost just two matches to date, the Cats well down the ladder in tenth position with a 50/50 win/loss record.
