CATS CULL ROOS GEELONG won their sixth match on the trot yesterday, easily accounting for the Kangaroos. The match did come at a cost; Paul Chapman pulling up sore in his game back from a brief ankle injury layoff, and the Big Hairy Cat Cameron Mooney being suspended for a week for striking Kangaroo Corey Jones. The best for the Cats was Corey Enright, ably supported by James Kelly, Henry Playfair, Jimmy Bartel, David Johnson and Steven King. The first goal of the match came from Enright, who received a brilliant tap on from James Kelly. Kelly and Enright were Geelong's best midfielders of the match; Kelly played noticeably smarter than in recent matches. Paul Chapman, who returned from a week's rest due to an ankle injury, was best until he was forced from the field early in the second quarter. Not coincidentally, the Cats dropped off thereafter before getting back into gear. Chapman finished out the match in short spurts and should return next week. Debutante Tom Lonergan kicked two goals in the final term, in his first match. Lonergan was a late replacement for Tom Harley. This Saturday Geelong again play at Skilled Stadium, hosting the Fremantle Dockers. The Dockers have struggled of late, although they did achieve a win over Melbourne at the MCG in Round six.
