JIMMY BARTEL WINS 2007 BROWNLOW MEDAL By Ben Jensen JIMMY BARTEL has won the 2007 Brownlow Medal, polling an amazing twenty-nine votes. Jimmy missed the final two rounds but after twenty rounds was declared the winner. Gary Ablett polled well, finishing in sixth place with twenty votes. Bartel polled eight best on grounds, twice second best and once picked up one vote. It was an emotional night for Bartel, who the day before saw good mate Tom Lonergan make the greatest of comebacks, named best on ground as his team won the VFL Grand Final.
