GEELONG V ST
KILDA; AFL NAB CUP 2011 ROUND 2 GEELONG and St KILDA continue their modern-day rivalry at Etihad Stadium this Saturday night in round two of the AFL's 2011 NAB Cup. Geelong topped their group in the first round while St Kilda were one of the 'lucky losers'. The Cats won both their games at Skilled Stadium while the Saints had a win and a draw. Mitch Brown makes his come-back for the Cats, fresh from dropping scandal-hit Ricky Nixon and his Flying Start football management group. Last time these two teams met it was the Cats who were
left scarred after having a crucial goal disallowed in the dying stages
of the first qualifying final, with the Saints going straight into a
preliminary final and memorably drawing one and losing another grand
final against Collingwood. Geelong of course has the wood over St Kilda
in recent years, the biggest win of all coming in the 2009 Grand Final.
St Kilda's focus may appear to be elsewhere due to the recent 'dickyleaks'
scandal, but they're used to dealing with adversity so don't expect
it to effect them this weekend.
