SAINTS NAME THREE CAPTAINS By Ben Jensen ST KILDA today named Nick Riewoldt, Lenny Hayes and Luke Ball as joint captains for season 2007. Each has captained the club in the past three seasons, Ball being sole captain last season. Of the three Hayes has had the best results, taking his team to the 2004 AFL Preliminary Final, while Riewoldt matched this achievement and Ball was hampered by injuries throughout 2006. The new system mirrors that at Sydney, who also have three captains, and while discontinuing sacked coach Grant Thomas' rotating captaincy system, does maintain the spirit of the system in not focusing on one leader.
