GEELONG'S BROWNLOW MEDAL VOTES
Ben Jensen 27 September 2011

AFL BROWNLOW MEDAL 2011 GEELONG'S players picked up a total of 91 votes, the fourth highest after winner Dane Swan's Collingwood (111), Hawthorn (104), West Coast (93) and Carlton (92). As expected Joel Selwood picked up the most votes (17), despite missing four matches with suspension. Next were Steve Johnson (12) and Joel Corey (11), the only others in double figures.

Dane Swan won the award with a record number of votes in the '3-2-1' era, from St Kilda's Nick Dal Santo on 28. Suspended Hawk Sam Mitchell finished on 30. Former Geelong champion Gary Ablett polled most of his fledgeling club's votes (23). The pre-Brownlow favourite Chris Judd and relatively unfancied Swan swapped positions of last year, where Judd was an outsider and Swan the short-priced favourite.
