CATS MAKE THREE LATE CHANGES; ABLETT GOES BANANAS; CATS WIN EASILY IN COSTA'S LAST HOME GAME AS PRESIDENT
Ben Jensen 28 August 2010

By Ben Jensen (Göreme, Cappadocia, Turkey) GEELONG made three late changes to the side but still pounded West Coast at Skilled Stadium today. Outgoing President Frank Costa, OAM, made a lap of honour and was very well received, while Gary Ablet Junior, who may also be having his last home game at Kardinia Park, destroyed West Coast in the third term, booting all five goals for the Cats. Geelong didn't have it their own way, wooden spooners West Coast neck and neck with the Cats up until half time, partially thanks to wayward kicking in the first term by Geelong earning them a one point lead. Rested today were Shannon Byrnes, Corey Enright and Joel Selwood, adequately replaced by Dan Menzels, Simon Hogan and Taylor Hunt.
