LEOPOLD spearhead Simon Grundell will celebrate his 200th senior game when the Lions take on Geelong West-St Peter's at home in the Geelong Football League this weekend.

Grundell has been a prolific goalscorer for Leopold since he joined the club in 1986 as a junior.

The 29-year-old sits only behind Lara sharpshooter Zvonimir Suto (42 goals) in the GFL top 10 goalkickers this season after three goals against Bell Park last weekend brought his tally to 31.

In 1989, Grundell played with the Geelong under-19s, taking out VFL goalkicking honours with an impressive season total of 80, before returning to Leopold midway through 1990. Still eligible to play in under-19s, Grundell headed back to the Cats the following year and played two reserves matches.
